Soner Ön

Soner Ön Richie Rich, 2011
Edition of 500

$24

Soner Ön creates serigraphed prints on top of found comic books to subvert the memory of the "Poor Little Rich Boy" as well as to confront pop-cultural assumptions regarding social class and all-American prosperity and privilege. This work was featured in Printed Matter's 2012 group exhibition HELP/LESS which was organized around the theme of appropriation in contemporary art.

Soner Ön is a Brooklyn-based artist and illustrator who draws on his inner city upbringing as well as the mystic traditions of magic from his Turkish ancestry throughout the production of his artist books and prints.
